Major Country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics
The CPC is committed to improving the wellbeing of the Chinese people, and to advancing human progress. It has always been our mission to contribute to humanity's progress. To this end, a proactive foreign policy that reflects China's position as a major country with Chinese characteristics is critical, as Xi Jinping stated at the Central Committee's Foreign Policy Meeting in November 2014.
The report to the 19th CPC National Congress underlined the importance of such a policy and its role in building a new form of international relations and a community with a shared future for humanity.
China will remain committed to peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, have friendly cooperation with other countries based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and work to build a new form of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice, and cooperation for mutual benefit.
China calls on people all over the world to work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity, an open, inclusive, clean, and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security, and shared prosperity.
China will never falter in its pursuit of an independent foreign policy of peace. China respects the right of the people of all countries to choose their own development path, and endeavors to uphold international fairness and justice. It will continue to forge global partnerships, expand the convergence of interests with other countries, increase its external exchanges and cooperation in various fields, follow an open-door policy in its development efforts and work for building an open world economy. Guided by a vision for participatory global governance, it will actively participate in and contribute to global governance reform.
