The Virtue of Practicing Economy in Building a Strong Military
China’s military always practices economy and never tolerates wasteful conduct. Everything should be done in a way that ensures that no money is wasted and that every cent counts. Measures are in place to conserve energy and other resources, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Compared with other major countries, China’s defense spending is low, whether as a share of GDP or total government spending, or whether in terms of general per capita spending or spending per service member. Rigorous military budget management is essential to ensuring rational resource allocation and making the most of the available resources.
