百里杜鹃

百里杜鹃是国家级森林公园、省级风景名胜区,素有“地球彩带,杜鹃王国,养生福地,清凉世界”“世界天然大花园”等美誉。先后获得“最值得驻华大使馆向世界推荐的中国优秀生态旅游目的地”“全国低碳旅游实验区”等20余项殊荣,它既是览略百里烂漫杜鹃花海,拥有“花间阡陌,山水归程”的诗意画卷、洗净都市纤尘的“花之天堂,心之旷野”之所,也是体会乌蒙原生态民族文化风情、探幽揽胜的“杜鹃花乡、彝疆古域”。其中百里杜鹃核心花区的杜鹃花,有世界杜鹃花9个亚属中的6个亚属共40多个品种。每年三月至五月,各种杜鹃花争奇斗艳、铺山盖岭,有“地球彩带、杜鹃王国”之美誉。

One Hundred Li of Rhododendrons

Baili Dujuan, literally "one hundred li (a Chinese unit of distance, equal to 500 meters) of rhododendrons", is a national forest park and a provincial scenic area. It is known as "a color ribbon of the earth", "a kingdom of rhododendrons", "a land for health preservation", "a cool world" and "a natural garden of the world". It has won over 20 honors, including "China's Outstanding Eco-Tourism Destination Worthiest of Recommendation by Embassies in China" and "National Low-carbon Tourism Experimental Zone". This is where you can not only find a sea of brilliant rhododendrons, but also experience the culture and customs of the Yi people on the Wumeng Grassland. In the core zone, there are more than 40 varieties of rhododendrons in six of the nine subgenera in the world. From March to May every year, the mountains here would be completely covered in rhododendrons of all kinds that contend in beauty and fascination.
