增强忧患意识
忧患意识是中华民族的一个重要精神特质，是中国共产党治党治国必须始终坚持的一个重大原则。中国共产党在内忧外患中诞生，在磨难挫折中成长，在战胜风险挑战中壮大，始终有着强烈的忧患意识。中国共产党人的忧患意识，就是忧党、忧国、忧民意识，这是一种责任，更是一种担当。
当前和今后一个时期，中国发展进入各种风险挑战不断积累甚至集中显露的时期，面临的重大斗争不会少，经济、政治、文化、社会、生态文明建设和国防和军队建设、港澳台工作、外交工作、政党建设等方面都有，而且越来越复杂。特别是要看到，中国面临的各种斗争不是短期的而是长期的，解决中国经济社会发展的突出矛盾和问题，需要付出长期艰苦的努力，不可能一蹴而就。这是中国由大向强发展进程中无法回避的挑战，是实现中华民族伟大复兴绕不过的门槛。面对复杂多变的国际形势和艰巨繁重的国家自身改革发展稳定任务，一定要增强忧患意识，做到未雨绸缪。
Being mindful of potential dangers
Being mindful of potential dangers is an important characteristic of the Chinese nation and also a major principle underlying the CPC's governance. Born amid domestic turmoil and foreign aggression, the Party was tempered through numerous tribulations and setbacks and has grown strong while surmounting difficulties and challenges. This has bestowed it with a strong sense of potential dangers. The concerns for the future of the Party, the country, and the Chinese nation also display a sense of responsibility.
Currently, China has entered a period when threats and challenges will accumulate and may surface en masse. A number of major issues may arise and become increasingly complex in relation to the economy, politics, culture, society, the eco-environment, national defense and the military, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs, foreign affairs, and the work to strengthen the Party. The struggles China faces are not temporary, but prolonged. Prominent problems in economic and social development cannot be solved at a stroke; they require sustained and arduous efforts. These challenges are unavoidable in China's process of growing strong and achieving national rejuvenation. China must remain alert, plan ahead against potential risks in a complex and evolving international situation, and address the challenges concerning its own reform, development, and stability.
