兰花奖

兰花奖是中国外文出版发行事业局（中国国际传播集团）为促进中外文化交流、文明互鉴而发起设立的奖项，旨在表彰奖励全球范围内投身国际文化交流事业，致力于促进中外文化交流、文明互鉴、推动全球文明对话合作的外籍人士或机构，并以成就贡献和国际影响力为主要评选标准，分设终身荣誉奖、杰出成就奖、友好使者奖三个奖项。兰花奖自2022年起设立，年度获奖名额为8—10人。截至2025年10月已举办两届。

在中国传统文化中，兰花是“君子之花”，象征着高雅、高洁、高尚的人格精神。中国古代文人常把诗文之美喻为“兰章”，将友谊之真喻为“兰交”，把良友喻为“兰客”。同时，兰花也是世界名花，代表着人与人、人与自然的友好和谐相处，在全球各地广受欢迎。兰花奖倡导各国文化交流使者积极做世界文明多样性的守护者、各国文化文明的传承者、新时代文明进步的推动者、跨文化交流互鉴的实践者，为增进文明共识、推动文明繁荣、促进民心相通贡献力量。

Orchid Awards

The Orchid Awards were initiated in 2022 by the China International Communications Group to facilitate cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and the rest of the world. The awards are to honor non-Chinese individuals and institutions for their contributions to cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and the rest of the world and dialogue and cooperation among global civilizations.

The awards are presented to eight to 10 awardees spanning three categories: Lifetime Honorary Prize, Outstanding Achievement Prize, and Friendship Envoy Prize. The selection is based on the achievements, contributions, and global influences of the candidates. Two awards ceremonies had been held by October 2025.

In traditional Chinese culture, the orchid is an embodiment of elegance and nobility. Scholars used the plant to praise beautiful poetry and prose. It is also a symbol of innocent friendship and harmonious coexistence of humanity with nature. 

The Orchid Awards support the commitment of cultural envoys to being guardians of cultural diversity, inheritors of various cultures, promoters of human progress, and practitioners of cross-cultural communication, in order to build consensus, deliver cultural prosperity, and forge close people-to-people ties.
