联合国中文日
中文是联合国工作语言之一，也是世界上作为第一语言使用人数最多的语言。2010年，在中国代表团的提议下，联合国将“联合国中文日”定于每年4月20日（中国传统节气谷雨前后），以呼应“中华文字始祖”仓颉在谷雨时节创造汉字的传说。该纪念日被纳入联合国六大官方语言文化推广体系，旨在促进多语言平等与文化多样性。
在中文日前后，联合国总部及世界各地的联合国机构会举办丰富多彩的活动，包括中文书法展览、中文诗歌朗诵、中文歌曲演唱、中文讲座等，展示中文的魅力和中华文化的博大精深。各国的中文爱好者积极参与其中，共同庆祝这一特殊的日子。
联合国中文日不仅为中文学习者提供了展示学习成果的平台，也为不同国家和文化背景的人们提供了了解中国文化的机会。通过这些活动，人们可以更好地理解中国的历史、哲学、文学、艺术等方面的成就，增进不同国家和民族之间的相互理解和友谊。
UN Chinese Language Day
Chinese is one of the six official languages used in the UN and also the language with the largest number of native speakers in the world. To highlight multilingualism and cultural diversity, at the proposal of the Chinese mission in 2010, the UN designated each year's April 20 as the UN Chinese Language Day. This day, which often coincides with "Guyu", one of the 24 solar terms used by the Chinese to divide the sun's annual circular motion, was selected to pay tribute to Cang Jie, the legendary inventor of Chinese characters.
Around this day every year, various activities are organized at the UN headquarters and its agencies around the world, such as Chinese calligraphy exhibitions, Chinese poetry recitals, performances of Chinese songs, and lectures in Chinese, to showcase the appeal of the language and the Chinese culture. Chinese language enthusiasts around the world also gather together to celebrate this special day.
The UN Chinese Language Day provides a platform to increase mutual understanding and friendship among different nations. It allows students of Chinese to display their progress and people from different countries and cultural backgrounds to learn about China's culture, history, philosophy, literature, and art.
