“三个超越”
“以文明交流超越文明隔阂、文明互鉴超越文明冲突、文明包容超越文明优越”的理念，提倡应理性处理本国文明与其他文明的差异，认识到每一个国家和民族的文明都是独特的，坚持求同存异、取长补短，不攻击、不贬损其他文明，进而追求不同文明的共同发展，这也就是中国社会学家费孝通总结的处理不同文化关系的理念：“各美其美，美人之美，美美与共。”
多姿多彩是人类文明的本色。正因为各国历史、文化、制度不尽相同，才需要交流互鉴、取长补短、共同进步。文明只有在流动、开放和交流中才能不断传播和发展。鼓噪所谓“民主和威权”“自由和专制”的二元对立，人为制造某些文明更加“优越”的话语，只能造成世界割裂，加剧不同文明之间的隔阂与冲突。
全球文明倡议以尊重世界文明多样性为价值前提，高扬平等、互鉴、对话、包容的文明观，推动各国文明平等交流、和合共生，努力让文明交流互鉴成为推动人类社会进步的动力、维护世界和平的纽带。
Let cultural exchanges, mutual learning, and inclusiveness prevail
China calls for letting exchanges among civilizations transcend estrangement, mutual learning transcend clashes, and inclusiveness transcend feelings of superiority. Countries should rationally look at the differences between their own civilization and other civilizations, recognize the uniqueness of the civilization of each country and nation, seek common ground while reserving differences, and draw on each other's strengths instead of attacking or disparaging other civilizations. This is what was summarized by the Chinese sociologist Fei Xiaotong as "If each values its own culture and appreciates the cultures of others, all cultures will thrive together".
Human civilizations are colorful by nature. It is precisely because of their differences in history, culture, and system that all countries need to interact with one another, learn from each other, and advance together. Civilizations can only continue to spread and develop through flow, openness, and exchanges. Deliberately creating division with the assertion of "democracy versus authoritarianism" and "liberalism versus autocracy" and intentionally creating discourses that claim certain civilizations are "superior" can only lead to global division and exacerbate estrangement and conflicts between different civilizations.
The GCI highlights respect for the diversity of civilizations and advocates equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness between civilizations in an effort to promote equal inter-civilizational exchanges and harmonious coexistence and drive human progress and world peace.
